Where the Word of God and the Sacraments of Christ create saving faith in Jesus.

St. John ELC, established in 1848, is one of the oldest congregations in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, a conservative Christian body who trace their theology and practice through the 15th century Reformation to the faith of the early Church as recorded once for all in Holy Scripture.

We believe, teach and confess the "Gospel," that Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, died on the cross for the sins of the world, that all might be saved through him. According to Scripture alone, by faith alone we trust that this "by grace alone" promise in Christ alone is God's once-for-all answer to the problem of evil in ourselves and our world.

Our pastor, the Rev. Jonathan Fisk, is a graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO, who unequivocally subscribes to the Evangelical Lutheran Confessions as a pure symbol of the faith delivered in the Holy Scriptures. Together, we practice the healthy theology of closed communion, affirm the creation of marriage between man and woman, confess six-day creation by the power of the Word of God, as well as maintain the Biblical answers to all controversies and questions of our age, trusting that the purpose of all Scripture is to strengthen and sustain our faith in the cross of Christ, the Lord.
